Hi everyone, my name is Andre Iwanchuk, I'm the Business Librarian here at KPU. I've made this short video outlining all the online resources that you have access to through the KPU Library to do your business research. So if we're starting at the KPU Library homepage there's just a couple of things I'd like to highlight. I want to focus on the Business Subject Guides. And the way we navigate to the Business Subject Guides is if we look at the middle of the page here, if we click on the Subject Guides link, it takes us to a page that shows all the guides by subject and discipline that we teach here at KPU. And if you notice on the left hand side, we can just click on the Business link. And it shows you all of the specific business research Subject Guides. I'm going to click on the one called Business, which is our general business guide. And this is a great place to start your business research because it has all the business-related resources we have access to on this one page. And the best place to start is on this Welcome page. And on the Welcome page I'm going to be putting up videos and screencasts about different databases and about different concepts when you're doing your business research. So please check this page frequently during the term because there'll be new videos coming up throughout the term. There's already a few videos up. One involves using Summon Search, which is the main search interface of the KPU Library. There's also video about searching the KPU Library Catalogue for finding books and e-books and streaming media. And there's also video searching in a specific research database called Business Source Complete. So please familiarize yourself with these videos. They'll give you a great overview of how the library works and how to start conducting your business research. A couple of other areas on this page I'd just like to go over quickly. There's the Books, E-books, and Streaming Media link. It gives you a link to the KPU Library Catalogue. Here are some subject headings that are useful. This term, you'll be primarily using e-books when you're doing your research. So whenever you find a book through the Library Catalogue, you can click on the hyperlink. It'll ask you for your username and password and then you can download the book or a portion of the book to whatever device you're using. Another key link is Research Databases and Journal Articles. So this tab takes you to all of the business-related research databases that you have access to here at KPU. So please familiarize yourself with these research databases. I'm going to be putting up videos highlighting some of the key features of the certain databases. So please again, keep checking that Welcome page for various videos and screencasts. Another very important page on the Business Guide is down here on citations. So if you click on Citations, this takes you to the APA library citation page. APA is the citation style that we use in the School of Business. So please familiarize yourself with this page. It has a lot of great information about how to do in-text citations, how to do reference lists, and how to format your paper in the APA style. Lastly, how to get a hold of me? The best way to get a hold of me is through email. So you can just click on this email link. I can ask you a question through email. Or we could do a video chat or phone chat, whatever is best for your particular research question. So best of luck with your library research and please feel free to contact me with any questions. Thanks!
